Home from Holidays

We got home from BC yesterday evening, we had a wonderful time with Heidi and Sam and of course Ana and Zach, we miss them so much already. To bad the kids were sick with the flu for much of the holiday. We played lots of card games, went swimming, and to Stanley Park. Here are a few of the highlights of our trip. Many of the pictures were taken by the budding photographers Ana & Zach.

Well it is 2 more sleeps and we are off to see Ana and Zach! I can't wait to see how much they have grown and to play with them for a few days.

We really want to connect with Heidi and Sam to!

Not to mention being away from work will be a bonus as well.

Bad Day

Well today was a bad day, the kind that you wake up feeling just a bit and that escalates bit by bit. I am bugged by my reaction to the circumstances of the day. I should have spoken up earlier about the issues I had a work. Instead I just kept letting myself be poked and poked and then I said my piece.

I wish I could have stopped before I started, oh I still needed to say what I said, I just should have said it differently. Without the frustration.

So a day to live and learn, Good thing for forgiveness, forgiving my self first. The hardest part, and asking for forgiveness in how I said what I said. The concern was correct, I just need to work on the delivery.

Tomorrow is another day:)

On the way down

Well, this week marks 26 days on weigh down and as of Sunday I was 9 lbs down. It amazes me how little my body really needs in order function very well, with no hunger. I want to keep on going and not give up. I am telling myself that this is not an 8 week plan but a life long plan I want to keep going till my body is at it's ideal weight.

Yesterday, all I wanted were chips, so in the evening when I got a bit empty I had some and a bit of chocolate, well guess what, they did not taste that great and I slept terrible. Who knew!!

Anyway today I was back on track with hunger and fullness. One day at a time with God's grace.

New New New

This is the season on new, we are putting on a new roof, we will be getting new doors, and at work we are moving towards incorporation and charitable status for Hannah House to become independent and stand alone.

The thing I love the most in all this is the sense of God's presents on the forward movement for Hannah House, He is most definitely in this process. Giving strength and opening doors every day. There is no doubt that He love the ministry of Hannah House and the girls and babies who live safe and secure under our roof. Thank you Father for your incredible blessings.

If you don't know about Hannah House you can find out more by checking out our web site at www.hannahhouse.ca incidently the web site is new too!

Feeling Blessed

I am blessed! I have been thinking about how much I love my little house, even cleaning it. I love to sit on the deck with a glass of wine at the end of a busy day, sharing with Herm, he helps me put things into perspective so often. I love my extended family, my sister is such an incredible woman, I so admire her. Our children amaze me daily. I am Blessed.

I was reading in the bible about Job and Daniel and it is clear that God knows everything that is happen in their lives in the stories written. It gives me confidence to know that God knows everything that is happening in my life right now this moment. Nothing slips by his gaze. I rest in His infinite care. I trust Him today with my life and my family.

Thank you Lord:)

My Shotsie:)

Well I thought I should show of the love of my life, the man the main squeeze! No only is he a man among men he is also a wonderful Dad. I love the way he is with our children and grankids. It speaks volumes about a man when you watch him with little people.
Well this week marked the end of the Baby Bottle Change for Life Campaign at HH. That means that when all 3300 baby bottles come in we count change, and count change and count change. We are blessed and can hardly wait to reveal what this year will bring in for the ministry of Hannah House. We have expanded the campaign so now we wait in anticipation to see what the total will be. So if you have any spare time and wat to roll a few pennies, let me know:)

Time to Refresh:)

Friday at last, I decided to take a stress free Friday from work. So today is a free day to catch up on home things like washing, cleaning and this afternoon I plan to go to the garden centres and get some nice plants for the deck. Hopefully the rain clears out later so that I can putter around outside a bit.

Yesterday, we rented a 27 foot U haul for Hannah House and hauled out a full truck of garbage, donated items, that were junk! Expired car seats, unsafe cribs, broken chairs, dressers, Sometimes it really bugs me that people give us the stuff they should be taking to the junk. We get it and then we have to pay to remove it. Oh well. It was fun to purge the place, it should be a whole lot easier to keep things clean now that the junk has been removed once again.

I just wish people would trust us and donate $ instead of old stuff. We are so careful not to spend unwisely, and when we bulk buy we can get really good prices for the things the girls and babies need. I will just have to keep on trying to encourage people to give $ instead of stuff.

So now I am off to wash the sheets. Hope the sun stays out:)

Monday...wishing it was Friday:)

Today was one of those Monday's, the moment I walked through the door it started, you know the barage of questions, a land mind of complaints and a few dozzies of problems. Seems like Monday's can be overwhelming. So I think I will switch to tomorrow and hope for a better day. One thing I know that GOD is bigger than any situation that I will ever face and that he can give me the courage and strength to not just get by, but to thrive and overcome.

I want to be a warrior the kind of person who never gives up, never says I quit. The kind of person that waits for GOD to bring the right solution to whatever the problem is.

My prayer is for GOD to flood my body, soul, mind and spirit with just that kind of courage and faith.

I will keep you posted on how that is going!!

16 hours at a Fry truck to raise just under $1,500 almost $100.00 per hour. They guys were great and it amazes me how generous some people can be. We had a few I don't want to donate people but over all the attitude was good.

Today is a beautiful Sunday and our Life Group is coming to BBQ after church. Hope that goes well. I will keep you posted.

Monday will be coming rather quick this week so I better go and enjoy the rest of Sunday!!

Wow, a long time between blogging!

So I will try to do better, I love reading my daughters blog it helps me to connect with her. So I thought I should try to be a bit more consistant with my writing.

I spent 8 hours at a Potato Heads fry truck on Lundy's Lane yesterday collecting donations for free fries. The guy's there are fantastic and they had designed this fund raiser for Hannah House Maternity Home. So if anyone is reading this and want to get some free fries just bring a donation to us for HH and enjoy. They are really great fries, I had some yesterday! I have been told by the locals who came by that Potato Heads are the best in Town.
Hope we get a bunch of donations for the mom's and babies who live at Hannah House.
